The history of India begins with the Indus Valley civilization and coming of Aryans. Most likely the Veda was composed between 1500BC and 1000 BC. After that India were united under King ASHOKA in the fifth century and 6th century is known for king of MAGADHAs had become paramount over the Ganges valley. This period also saw the emergence of Boudhism and Jainism. After Maurys India repeatedly raided and plundered by foreigners and the stability restored by the GUPTAS and witnessed an unprecedented flowering of Art, Literature and sciences. This period also saw the beginning of hindu temples and architecture.

The history of Art in ancient India begins with prehistoric rock paintings. The ancient Indian civilization was one of the most advanced civilization in terms of society planning and education system. Taxila and Nalanda were the two big universities in the ancient time where thousands of students from all over the world studies different subjects.

The discovery of ancient Indus valley civilization was made when the Harappa city, the first city of Indus valley was excavated.
India has a rich heritage and it has a very large geographical area which includes the mountains, the northern plains, plateaus, rivers and also islands.

In the Deccan region there was strong presence of “CHOLA” Kingdom and was the longest ruling dynasties in the world history. The datable references proved that Cholas ruled from 3rd Century BCE to 13th Century CE (300 BCE – 1279 CE). The Chola dynasty has spread upto South Asia and South East Asia. The dynasty became a military, economic and cultural power in south Asia and South East Asia. The Chola fleet represented the zenith of ancient Indian sea power in Indian sub-continent. Cholas patronage and their zeal in the building temples has resulted in some great works of architecture.
Thus India has became the rich heritage and cultural power from the ancient age. India has more than 40 UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Tourism here depends on ancient and Heritages and every year good number of foreigners are coming here from different parts of the world to discover the ancient history and culture and India has became the Tourism Hotspot in the world.
