Essential trip
information!
Pack comfortable clothing with layers, including a light fleece or jacket for cooler evenings in Kohima, Mokokchung, and Mon. Sturdy walking shoes are essential for navigating hilly village paths and unpaved terrain. Bring strong sun protection, insect repellent, and essential personal medicines. The local currency is the Indian Rupee (INR); carrying adequate cash is critical, as ATMs and digital payment systems are extremely limited in Mon and rural districts. A moderate to high level of fitness and an open, adventurous mindset are recommended for this offbeat journey.
