Essential trip

information!

Pack a highly versatile wardrobe tailored for alpine climates: lightweight, breathable clothing for summer days (April to June), and heavy woolens, thermal wear, waterproof jackets, and snow boots for the freezing winters (November to March). Even in summer, evenings by the lake or in Gulmarg can be quite chilly, so a warm sweater or light jacket is essential. Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended for navigating the terraced gardens and mountain valleys. Bring essential sun protection, sunglasses, and personal medications. The local currency is the Indian Rupee (INR); while digital payments are widely accepted in Srinagar, carrying cash is absolutely necessary for rural areas, local tipping, pony rides, and hiring union cabs.
