Important Notes Description:
- A valid government photo ID (Voter ID or Passport) and 4 passport-size photographs are strictly required for Tsomgo Lake permits. Aadhaar cards are often restricted.
- Nathula Pass is closed to tourists on Mondays and Tuesdays; visiting requires advance notice and supplemental costs.
- The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) and Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park in Darjeeling are closed on Thursdays.
- Tiger Hill sunrise visits are regulated by local traffic authorities and subject to weather conditions.

Pack layered clothing, including heavy woolens, thermal innerwear, and a windproof jacket for the high-altitude Tsomgo Lake excursion and early morning Tiger Hill visit. Bring sturdy walking shoes for navigating steep, cobblestone paths. Carry essential sun protection, sunglasses, and personal medications, including motion sickness tablets for winding hill roads. The local currency is the Indian Rupee (INR); carrying cash is recommended as digital payments can fluctuate in remote border areas. Stay well-hydrated to adjust to the high altitudes. A moderate level of physical fitness is required for local sightseeing.
