Important Notes
- Indian nationals do not require a visa for Nepal but must carry a valid Passport or original Voter ID card. Aadhaar cards are not valid for air travel.
- Overland travel between Kathmandu and Pokhara takes approximately 6-8 hours depending on highway road conditions and traffic.
- Standard hotel check-in time is 14:00 and check-out time is strictly 12:00 noon.
- Modest dress covering shoulders and knees is mandatory when visiting religious temples.
Essential trip
information!
Pack comfortable, breathable clothing along with a light jacket or sweater for cooler mornings in Pokhara and Sarangkot. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended for exploring temple complexes and mountain viewpoints. Bring sun protection, sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle. The local currency is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR), but Indian currency (notes of ₹100 or lower) is widely accepted across tourist areas. Stay hydrated with bottled water throughout your overland journey.
