Last few months I was researching over all the backpacker’s heavens on the earth. Among all those, few I already touched, few I never heard of. “Lonely Beach, Koh-Chang”, was one of those I never heard of. After daily busy nightlife in “Bangkok”, I decided to move away to “Lonely Beach” for few days to rest in any warm bungalow. So I headed towards to this backpacker’s heaven. When I read those articles about “Lonely Beach”, I was very enthusiastic to the touch the solitude again in that unknown beach down the soothing moonlight. After a relaxing five hours air-con bus journey from “Bangkok”, I took a ferry to reach the “The Island Of Elephant” means “Koh- Chang”. From the main pier in the island I took a shuttle taxi to reach my dream destination “Lonely Beach”. It was almost an ended afternoon, when I was been dropped there. In few minutes after my landing, I discovered that, I wasn’t alone there with the heavy backpack, there were so many others with different hair colors and different skins, in a mission of searching cheap guest house for staying. At last I found something to rest my body for that night. Next morning I walked around to see the real island life. I saw the different color bungalows with different flavored hammocks, different bars with different rocking flavors, funny looking hair-saloons, street-food shops with smiley shopkeepers. The style of this island’s living was really retro kind of, somewhere it really inspired hippies. In the late noon, I stopped my exploring mind and decided to see the real “Lonely Beach”, for what I came so far. I appeared there in the beach, where all the far away small islands gaze, Sun peers, sands play, kayaks float around. All the faces were happy and smiley around my eyes. Very soon it proved to be one of the real happy moments of my life. I still can’t imagine, what a soothing beauty I was seeing. Gradually my intension of being lonely had gone in vain. Unknown friends flew across my excited soul and said “Hello” to me. Somehow I had to be in a lonely group, in that lonely part of lonely beach. In the evening all the lonely groups used to see each other in famous “Ting Tong” bar for having a proper cool reggae music evening. Slowly, I felt like it was like a small community. Every single traveler, who was staying around this beach, surely knew each other by face and by heart. Morning smile was a very essential stuff for everyone, when they used to meet each other in some cozy breakfast place. Every single backpacker’s group used to go breakfast, lunch, dinner, last night drink all together with their group members in some of their favorite place like- “stone free”, “kitchen”, “whiskey bar”, “hammel bar” etc. Few countries that I only saw in map, backpackers from those places were also available to meet in lonely beach. Chilling and partying were two main features of this great beach. Once or twice there used to be some beach party in “Siam Hut” or “Nature Beach” resort. Otherwise during whole week “Ting Tong” bar was the center of attraction in whole beach, it was kind of the heart of the communities. Accordingly the end of the year stood upon our calendars. In the last few remaining hours of past year, we all were gathered in the beach down the moon. So delightful it was, I just came to enjoy such a wonderful evening and my dream fulfilled. I was feeling that the Moon was kissing us with her magical blue lips. Everyone threw away their old memories in the “Gulf Of Thailand”, all had been happy again in happy Lonely Beach. We all said together “Happy New Year”. Fireworks, loud party, unknown kisses were all around the air. In the next few mornings lonely beach started to be proper lonely. All were moving to their next destinations as they already planned for New Year. The beach had been quiet again and justified it’s name again. I moved to the capital after two weeks. Still the memories are in the process of cherishing. Looking forward to visit again this wonderful beach and lay on the sand down the moonlight. Go and feel yourself all my travel friends, if you really wanna experience something very precious in life.
