Essential Trip Info Description
Description:
Pack a highly versatile wardrobe prepared for shifting elevations and climates: warm sweaters, light jackets, or windcheaters are essential for the cooler elevations of Haflong (especially in the evenings), while lightweight, breathable cotton clothing is recommended for the humid plains of Kaziranga, Majuli, and Guwahati. Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes are required for exploring the Satras and temple complexes. Bring essential sun protection, sunglasses, and strong mosquito/insect repellent (crucial for Majuli and Kaziranga). A pair of binoculars will greatly enhance your wildlife viewing experience during the jeep safaris. The local currency is the Indian Rupee (INR); carrying ample cash is critical, as ATMs and digital payment networks can be highly unreliable on Majuli Island and in the Haflong hills.
