Itinerary

ACTIVITY: Transfer Welcome to Guwahati! Upon arrival at the airport we shall be waiting for you to transfer you to Kaziranga National Park, the home of "One Horned Rhinoceros", Check in at your hotel. Evening free for leisure or explore the local market. Overnight accommodation will be in Kaziranga. TERRAIN: Plains + Forest (National Park)
ACTIVITY: Game Drive + Elephant Ride Early morning Elephant Ride (Either Central “KOHORA” or Western Range “BAGORI”) (Optional: Unless it is mentioned in the inclusion). Probable sighting during the Elephant Ride: One Horn Rhino is the major attraction, apart from that other species are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Asiatic Water Buffalo, Asian Elephants and if you are lucky then Royal Bengal Tiger. Later return back to hotel/Resort for breakfast. Ride timings: 5.30 AM/6.30 AM/ 7.30 AM After breakfast you can visit “Kaziranga orchid and Biodiversity Park” and Tea Garden. Even visit Hathikhuli Tea outlet – for direct tea retail outlet by Hathikhuli Tea Garden for organic CTC and organic Green Tea. Afternoon 2.00 PM you will have JEEP SAFARI/GAME DRIVE in Central range/Western Range. (Optional: Unless it is mentioned in the inclusion). Optional: Bihu Dance/ Karbi Dance (For groups and had to be pre booked) Accommodation: Hotel/Resort in Kohora. TERRAIN: Plains Kaziranga National Park , A World Heritage Site covering 430 square kilometres on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra, 217km east of Guwahati, occupies a vast valley floor against a backdrop of the Karbi Anglong Hills. Its rivulets, shallow lakes and semi-evergreen forested highlands blend into marshes and flood plains covered with tall elephant grass teeming with deer and wild buffalos. However, the big draw, is the park’s famous yet highly endangered one-horned rhinos, best observed from the back of an elephant first thing on a winter’s morning. Tiger sightings are relatively rare, despite the park’s official claim to have the highest density of tigers of any park in the world. Jeeps take you deeper into the forest than elephants, but cannot get nearly as close to the rhinos and buffalo. The abundant birdlife includes egrets, herons, storks, fish eagles, kingfishers and a grey pelican colony. It has become synonymous with successful conservations of Great One Horn Rhinoceros / Unicornis and also a home of many other threatened species including Indian Elephant, Royal Bengal Tiger, Hoolock Gibbon, Ganges dolphin, Sambar, Barasingha or Swamp Deer, Hog Deer, Indian Muntjac, Water Buffalo and Gaur etc. Among the reptiles’ species like Water Monitor Lizard, Indian python, Cobra and the King Cobra are found.
ACTIVITY: Transfer After Breakfast, check out hotel and then transfer to Shillong. The ‘Scotland of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. En-route visit Umium Lake/Park. Evening you can visit famous Police Bazaar (PB) of your own. Umain Lake popularly known as Barapani, this is the biggest artificial lake in the State. Surrounded by sylvan hills and wrapped in the beauty of an assortment of green Khasi-pines and the azure blue skies. Developed upon the reservoir of the Umiam Hydro Electric Project, the Water Sports Complex provides a choice of row-boats, paddle-boats, cruise boats, sailing boats, water scooters and speed boats. ACTIVITY: Transfer After Breakfast, transfer to Cherrapunjee. Sightseeing includes: Ramakrishna School and Museum, Eco Park, Nohsngithiang Waterfalls, Nohkalikai Waterfalls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint, Mawsmai Cave and Arwah Cave. Accommodation: Hotel/Resort/Homestay in cherrapunjee. TERRAIN: Hills Laid out along razor-like ridges of a high mountain wall, Cherrapunjee (known locally as Sohra) sits at the edge of the Himalayas, overlooking the pancake-flat plains of Bangladesh. The village was once feted as the wettest place on earth because of its prodigious monsoon rainfall. The road from state capital Shillong passes through pretty scenery that becomes dramatic at the Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint, where a photogenic V-shape valley cuts deeply into the plateau.
ACTIVITY: Transfer After breakfast, drive to Mawlynnong. At Riwai village visit Single root bridge and on the way to Mawlynnong village also visit the balancing rock. Then later to Dawki (Tamabil – Indo Bangladesh Border and Umngot River) and later drive to Shillong. Accommodation: Hotel/Resort/Homestay in Shillong. TERRAIN: Plains -> Hills Mawlynnong village, situated 90 kms ahead of Shillong, on the Shillong-Dawki Road, 30 kms from Pynursla, is a village of 75 households with a population of 400. An idyllic location, this village epitomizes a standard, which all other villages need to aspire to be. Dubbed the cleanest village in India by Discover India Magazine, the primary Village School till class V boasts of its no dropout record and the village of 90 % literacy. Paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed all along mark the village, with waterfalls, a living root bridge, hilly rivulets, acacia plantation and an excellent view of the faraway plains of Bangladesh all contribute to the ambience of this village. Farming of betel nut & leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of the village.
ACTIVITY: Transfer After Breakfast, Visit Maa kamakhya temple and later transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway station for your departure.
